Instant Pot Braised Short Ribs

This recipe is perfect for those days when you are craving something that sticks to your ribs (no pun intended). Using the Instant Pot cuts down on the cooking time, but is still as tender and flavorful as if the short ribs were braised for hours.

Instant Pot Braised Short Ribs

Instant Pots are great for making flavorful dishes in a short amount of time.

  • Season the short ribs with Jovian Pantry® V Spice Seasoning. In a pan heat the olive oil and sear the short ribs until brown on each side. Remove ribs from the pan and place them into the Instant Pot.
  • Add the red wine into the pan to deglaze, then add the mixture to the Instant Pot. Arrange the mushrooms, carrots, and onions on top of the meat.
  • Pour 1/2 to 3/4 of the bottle of Jovian Pantry® VS BBQ Sauce into the Instant Pot. Secure the lid and set to pressure cook on high for 50 minutes, with a 15-minute natural release.
  • For a thicker sauce, remove the short ribs and vegetables and set to saute mode. Simmer until you reach your desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.


Serve over mashed potatoes or rice. French bread is also a great complement to this dish!
