An easy way to roast pork in a pan rather than baking in the oven. This recipe is a great accompaniment to any dish like stir-fried veggies, as a topping for ramen, or simply with a bowl of rice.
Rinse the pork shoulder and pat dry. Cut into manageable half or quarter pieces along the grain, depending on the size of the meat.
Rub the pork shoulder with Jovian Pantry® V Spice Seasoning and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Leave overnight for best results.
Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat. Sear each side of the pork, then lower the heat to medium. Add 4 tbsp of water, cover, and steam until cooked through, an internal temperature of 165°F. Occasionally check the pan and add water as needed to prevent the pork from burning.
Remove the pork from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
The cooking time averages about 30 minutes a pound, larger cuts may require longer cooking times.
