Pan-Roasted Pork Shoulder
An easy way to roast pork in a pan rather than baking in the oven. This recipe is a great accompaniment to any dish like stir-fried veggies, as a topping for ramen, or simply with a bowl of rice.
Servings 4
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- Jovian Pantry® V Spice Seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp water
Instructions
- Rinse the pork shoulder and pat dry. Cut into manageable half or quarter pieces along the grain, depending on the size of the meat.
- Rub the pork shoulder with Jovian Pantry® V Spice Seasoning and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Leave overnight for best results.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat. Sear each side of the pork, then lower the heat to medium. Add 4 tbsp of water, cover, and steam until cooked through, an internal temperature of 165°F. Occasionally check the pan and add water as needed to prevent the pork from burning.
- Remove the pork from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
The cooking time averages about 30 minutes a pound, larger cuts may require longer cooking times.
